Yoga Anatomy

The Yoga Anatomy Workshop takes your anatomy knowledge to deeper and more scientific extents. You will learn more about the anatomy of the body to better understand how it works and be able to guide a safe and stable physical practice with less risk of injuries. This workshop will also shift your idea of the body as a construction of different parts to an idea of the body as an integrated whole. Understanding anatomy begins with understanding first and foremost that all bodies are different. This means that some asanas are sometimes accessible or inaccessible to some as a result of a person’s anatomy. In this workshop, you will also learn how some postures are affected by the different anatomical compositions. Combining this scientific knowledge with the principles of yoga will lead to an all-inclusive perspective on how our bodies work during a physical practice and why that may benefit us.

The workshop will include explorations of the four components that allow, restrict and create movement in the body, which are: the skeletal, muscular, connective tissue, and nervous systems. Understanding how these four systems function individually and together will further our understanding of movement and asanas. Learning the correct anatomic vocabulary and expressions will also help advance your guidance and explanation during a yoga class.

Despite his experience and years of teaching he is humble and always ready to listen to people. I was lucky enough to talk to him about many things and open my mind to every vision of him."
