Aerial yoga is a new approach in the practice of classic yoga where a hammock of special fabric is used as a prop that helps make difficult asanas (postures) easier and allows the body to take advantage of the support provided by the hammock.
As the Unnata Aerial Yoga founder Michelle Dortignac states : “Students use both the hammock and the floor to immediately feel the improvement in their flexibility, strength and alignment, and to understand how to use the skills and benefits achieved through using the hammock while attending non-aerial Yoga classes and other physical activities”.
The practice of aerial asanas allows your physical posture to change gradually, your flexibility to increase, your strength to develop, and your breath to go deeper. In aerial yoga the effect of advanced yoga practices is achieved passively and effortlessly.
